Introduction

On September 26, 2020, President Trump announced the nomination of Judge Amy Coney Barrett (United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit) to fill the vacancy on the United States Supreme Court following the death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The Senate Judiciary Committee hearing to consider Judge Barrett's nomination to serve as an Associate Justice on the United States Supreme Court is scheduled to begin October 12, 2020.
