Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972
Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, codified in 20 U.S.C. §1681 et seq. is a comprehensive federal law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in any federally funded education program or activity. Except for a few specific exceptions, Title IX applies to all aspects of federally funded education programs or activities such as those at educational institutions (colleges, universities, and elementary and secondary schools).
