Eighth Amendment & Capital Punishment

Amendment VIII:
Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.
Capital Punishment:
"A criminal penalty that involves killing the perpetrator; the sentence of death for a serious crime. — Also termed death penalty." Black’s Law Dictionary (11th ed. 2019)
