Locate an article while searching the web? If you are on campus, many subscription resources will recognize your UMN IP address and instantly provide full-text access if the University subscribes to that resource.
If you are off-campus, publishers will often ask that you pay for access. If you are unsure whether the University provides access to a resource, try the University Libraries' Proxy Bookmarklet. This button, once installed in your browser toolbar, will re-load webpages through the University proxy server and grant you access to resources that campus libraries subscribe to.
When on campus, Google Scholar will recognize your University affiliation and provide you with the full text of resouces subscribed to by the University Libraries.
If you are off-campus, add the University of Minnesota to your "Library Links" in your Google Scholar settings. You will need to be logged into a Google Account to add a library link. Once you've added the University of Minnesota, Google will provide database links through the libraries' proxy server to grant you full access to subscribed resources. Links to the full text, or to a FindIt search to further investigate the library's holdings are provided to the right of the article citation.
