This guide provides information for graduates preparing for the bar exam.

Library Access: December

Law Library Access for December 2023 Graduates:

  • December 2023 University of Minnesota Law School graduates have 24-hour access to Mondale Hall and the Law Library through the end of July
    • Keep your U Card with you for after-hours access and to show security monitors you are a recent graduate 

Law Library and University Libraries Access for Pre-December 2023 Graduates:

  • Law Library public access hours:
    • Monday - Thursday: 8:00am - 7:00pm
    • Friday: 8:00am - 6:00pm
    • Saturday: CLOSED
    • Sunday: CLOSED
  • Wilson Library (West Bank) public access hours:
    • Monday - Thursday: 8:00am - 10:00pm
    • Friday: 8:00am - 6:00pm
    • Saturday: 12:00pm - 6:00pm 
    • Sunday: 12:00pm - 10:00pm
  • Health Sciences Library (East Bank) public access hours:

Bloomberg, Lexis & Westlaw Access - December Graduates

December 2023 Graduates have continued access for six months (through June 30, 2024). This access is automatic (no registration required) and is unlimited and unrestricted. If you have any questions, please contact the Bloomberg Law Help Desk or our dedicated Client Service Partner, Stefanie Schuette.

Q: When will my Lexis access end?
A: Recent graduates automatically receive 6 months of Lexis access post-graduation. Nothing additional is required on your end, simply continue using your Lexis account as you always have and enjoy access through June 30, 2024. Please note that by Feb. 1, 2024, your Law School Home Page will update to our graduate portal. This new homepage will provide helpful information for your career and bar exam prep. From the graduate homepage, you can select a graduation gift from LexisNexis. C
hoices include one of the following: LexisNexis eBook, online subscription for Practical Guidance, Intelligize, Lexis for Microsoft Office, or Law360.

Q: When will my Rewards points expire?
A: Please make sure to spend or donate your points by Jan. 31, 2024! Log on to www.lexisnexis.com/lawschool and click the “Manage Rewards” link at the top right of the page. This will launch the Rewards page where you can choose to “Redeem Points Now” or “Donate Now”. If you have points remaining, you might consider donating them to a national or local charity, including Minnesota Justice Foundation.

Westlaw Precision

December 2023 Graduates have access to Westlaw Precision, Practical Law, Practical Law Connect, Drafting Assistant and Doc & Form Builder for 18 months after graduation. Your “Grad Elite” access gives you 60-hours of usage on these products per month to meet any research needs.
