Minnesota AG Opinions

The Attorney General is authorized by statute to issue written legal opinions upon request from constitutional executive officers, state agencies, bodies of the state legislature, and attorneys for local governments or pension funds. The Attorney General provides both formal and informal opinions. These opinions are advisory in nature and not binding legal authority. Courts may accord them some persuasive value.
